WHY?
- Research shows that a greater interest towards cartoons in ASD may lead to greater acquired expertise
- Cartoons can enhance self-care skills (e.g. how to brush teeth, wash hands or get dressed), social skills (e.g. sharing, asking for help, saying thank you, interrupting) and academic abilities
- Cartoons can help students with ASD /other students to understand how others might behave or respond in a particular situation, to cope with changes in routine and unexpected or distressing events (e.g. absence of teacher, moving house, thunderstorms)
