Present yourself and your classroom – Video

WHY?

• Using a presentation video will help students with ASD to adjust their expectations and anticipate the environment they are going to be exposed to.
• You can use the video to prepare the child with the new environment; this will decrease the level of anxiety of the child and will make it easier to perceive the change.

HOW?

• Make a short presentation (i.e. phone, video camera) of you as a teacher and the classroom in which you will be teaching.

EXERCISE

1. Take a sheet of paper and write what you would post in a video made for students with ASD.

2. Write a maximum of one page – it takes up to 5 minutes!

3. Add 5 more minutes to record with a phone!
