Conducting debriefing

Debriefing is an essential part of any experiential learning activity. When we say “you need to do a debriefing”, that means that after the exercise is finished, you lead the participants, by asking questions in a certain order, to discover the meaning of the experience.

We strongly recommend that, when you are using the Gamified Learning Content or the gamED board game, you take a significant amount of time to ask questions and let the participants answer and get their own conclusions out of the activity.

Three basic questions could be:

  • what went right?
  • what went wrong?
  • what could you consider doing differently next time?

Each activity in the GLC contains a debriefing section. You will find there some suggestions related to what questions you could ask.
