Hello again! This is the second chapter of your journey through this e-learning module. We will speak a little bit about the ways of "Creating a comfortable environment".
Even if teaching online is a big challenge, empathy towards students’ needs can be of great help, especially if we want to transform them into active learners, not only passive observers of a monologue.
When they are passive, students might be either unable or unwilling to participate. Challenges in their home environment (including technological ones) can obstruct their participation. But “students who are unwilling to participate have failed to see the benefits of their education”. (says Jeff Lisciandrello, founder of Room to Discover and an education consultant specialising in student-centred learning).
